A riverside city on the Danube, Buda was built on a rocky outcrop on the south bank, while Pest was constructed at the level of the plain on the north bank. The River Danube bisects Budapest, Hungary's capital. Its 19th-century Chain Bridge connects the hilly Buda district with flat Pest. What makes Budapest a place to be are not just the streets but the architecture and buildings that have existed for centuries. You'll find cafeterias, restaurants, and other things that make you feel great about yourself. On the streets, you'll find many shops here and there offering quality products you can buy and take back home. Budapest is a perfect city to explore with its diverse attractions that will motivate you to discover while walking these 7 most beautiful streets in Budapest. 📍1. Váci utca- 1052 Budapest Váci utca is one of the main pedestrian thoroughfares and perhaps the most famous street in central Budapest, Hungary. It features many restaurants and shops catering primarily to the tourist market. Once upon a time, downtown Pest's Váci Street was Hungary's version of Rodeo Drive – during Europe's belle-époque era, high-society ladies came here for the latest fashions and it was a place to see and be seen. Although Váci lost some appeal when it became the city's primary destination for tourist-trap restaurants and overpriced souvenir shops. It's still worth a walk between Vörösmarty Square and the Great Market Hall and a few places along the way remain remarkable Vendetta is popular among locals for its tasty Italian cuisine While the Art Nouveau-style Philanthia flower shop is a surviving relic of Váci's earlier elegance. 📍2. St.Stephen's Square and Zrinyi utca This empty square grand plaza stands in front of magnificent St. Stephens Basilica (which we are all must see in Budapest) is a classic of how Budapest has spiffed up its one-gloomy downtown. A decade ago, this space was an ugly parking lot. Today, the streets around this square transformed into one of Budapest's trendies nightlife zones, with lots of bars, restaurants, and cafes catering to local yuppies. 📍3. Andrássy út (Avenue), 1062 Budapest 3 kms of a wide avenue lined with trees and bordered with magnificent villas and historic buildings constructed in the late 19th century. Hungary's grandest boulevard cuts directly through downtown Pest to connect Erzsébet Square and Heroes' Square, and anyone who strolls along will encounter a wealth of monumental sights. Within the more urban segment closer to the city centre, luxury boutiques like Louis Vuitton and Burberry provide upscale window shopping beside the majestic Hungarian State Opera House, and restaurants tempt diners with pleasant sidewalk seating. 📍4. Fashion street Fashion Street, the nickname of Deák Ferenc útca, is a concentration of fashion boutiques synonymous with the Parisian Bon Chic Bon genre. Aspiring to the likes of London's Regent's Street and Milan's Via Montenapoleone, Fashion Street is a mix of international brands that include some of Hungary's top design houses. It is home to Nanushka Beta Store, Furla and Hugo Boss, and also Byblos Department Store with collections of Just Cavalli, Galliano and Milan's Frankie Morello. Sophisticated European restaurants, cafés and bars line Fashion Street. The cobblestone road is one of the main arteries for shoppers who are scouting for Vanity Fair in the Paris of Eastern Europe! 📍5. Bar street in the heart of the downtown Review of Gozsdu Udvar I'm a local in Budapest, and would like to recommend you the most popular "bar street" with about 20 bars and restaurants. It is actually a big yard 70m walk away from the city center and tube station "Deák Tér". Here you'll get good quality of food, drinks at a reasonable price. (for students it could be expensive, an average dinner with few drinks might cost about 25-30 EUR) 📍6. Danube Promenade- 1051 Budapest, Belgrád rakpart While this riverfront walkway isn't really a street, it would be inexcusable for us to leave the Danube Promenade off this list. The Danube Promenade has been a popular place for a leisurely stroll since the 19th century. As you make your way along its length, pause to enjoy the fabulous views of Buda Castle, the Citadel, Gellért Hill and a few of the city's bridges. 📍7. Kazinczy Street, 1075 Budapest The prominent street, dubbed the Street of Culture, is the city's Jewish Quarter. Cultural Sights in Kazinczy Street include the Orthodox Synagogue, located around the middle of the street. Budapest's orthodox Jewish community use the synagogue.
