Five Movements for Brass Quintet by Samuel Adler (1963). Recorded by Chicago Chamber Brass (1981). This work is published by Robert King. A very sincere THANK YOU! to the composer for permission to post this recording. In the words of Samuel Adler: "It is a rather simple piece, very unpretentious, conventional in style, a kind of Gebrauchsmusik. My friends...wanted a piece they could have fun playing, and that's why I wrote it. The Houston Symphony Brass Quintet gave the first performance. It is a kind of Hindemith-Copland piece, both of whom were my teachers, and I don't forget Walter Piston."
