Actor and author Stephen Fry journeys through The Odyssey, tracing Homer’s epic across oceans of memory, heroism, and homecoming. In conversation with classicists Simon Goldhill and Josephine Quinn, they explore how the poem’s timeless rhythms speak to loss, courage, and the human heart—showing why this ancient voyage still shapes imagination and the stories we tell ourselves today. Presented by Dainik Jagran INEXT Stephen Fry is an English actor, writer, poet, comedian, television presenter, and film director. Notable acting roles include his award-winning performance in Wilde, his iconic projects with Hugh Laurie including ‘A Bit of Fry and Laurie’, ‘Jeeves and Wooster’ and ‘Blackadder’, and his memorable turns in blockbuster projects ‘V for Vendetta’, the ‘Sherlock Holmes’ films and ‘The Hobbit’ series. His recent television credits include ‘The Dropout’ and ‘The Sandman’. Stephen’s recent European feature film ‘TREASURE’ had its world premiere at this year’s Berlinale. As a proudly out gay man, the award-winning ‘Out There’, is part of his thirty-year advocacy of the rights of the LGBT community. Simon Goldhill is Professor of Greek at the University of Cambridge. His books have been translated into thirteen languages and have won three international prizes. He has broadcast widely on radio and television around the world. His most recent book, Queer Cambridge, was a TLS Book of the Year for 2025. Josephine Quinn holds the Chair in Ancient History at the University of Cambridge. She has been a Fellow at the Getty Villa and the Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers at the New York Public Library. Her books include In Search of the Phoenicians (2018) and How the World Made the West (2024).
