[Filmed 7:47pm December 17, 2021] The NCTD Coaster Passenger Train finally started moving again after the gate got stuck on the overhead lights at this crossing. The crossing finally activated late and the gate malfunction caused the train to blow its horn. Whenever a crossing has a malfunction where cars can go through it the train always blows its horn even if it’s a quiet zone like this crossing is. This train and an Amtrak Pacific Surfliner both went very slowly through this crossing due to the malfunction of the stuck Crossing gate. A NCTD Signal maintainer came out after this and was working on fixing the problem when the Amtrak came. After that I believe he fixed the issue and all four gates lower when a train approaches, not just two and one which rose again while the train was passing through the crossing. This crossing is an old crossing but has newer signals replacing older ones with Safetran Mechanical Bells. North County Transit District Coaster Passenger Train passes through the W Laurel St Railroad Crossing after stopping due to the close gate landing on the overhead lights and getting stuck. Later a signal maintainer fixed the problem and all of the gates lower. After this came an Amtrak which also blew its horn because of the failure of the gates lowering. Both trains also proceeded slowly through this crossing because of the gate.
