Butlersbridge GFC organised an number of events to celebrate the Gathering 2013. One of the event was a Historical Tour of Butlersbridge, hosted by PJ Dunne and Terry Leddy. So there was a level of craftmanship in the area going back to the 4th and 5th century. Silver Brooch, known as the Queens Brooch found in Urney..dating back to the 9th century. Raised Stone in the Horse field, where in November 1840 there was a temperance gathering held by Father Theobald Mathew (temperance reformer). 60000 people came to take the pledge. In 1874 there was an application to have a railway station in Butlersbridge
