The 3rd day of the Lilliputters ringing tour 2017. This took us to Southampton. Tower 1: Southampton St Michaels. These consist of a 1928 Guillett & Johnston 8 with 2 Taylor trebles added in 1947. They are a good 10 and here you will hear some Cambridge Royal being rung. Tower 2: Southampton St Mary. These consist of a 1945 taylor ring of 10 and are an excellent ring of bells. Here you will see the early stages of our attempt at ringing London No. 3 Surprise Royal. Then as the weather wasn't good we decided to have an extended lunch break instead of getting soaked doing a treasure hunt around Southampton. So we ended up being in weatherpersons for an extended lunch break. Tower 3: Southampton St Barnabas. These are a little 6 of mixed founders (Whitechapel, Guillet & Johnston and Taylors), Here you will see some spliced doubles and minor being rung. Tower 4: Southampton Bitterne Park. These are a mixed founder light 12 that are easy to ring. Here we had a bit of fun ringing all 14 bells (the 12, a flat 6th and a slow swinger service bell) and we rang the minor 10. You will hear the start of some Stedman Cinques, rounds on the 14 and some Grandsire Caters on the minor 10. On the way back we rang a quarter peal in the minibus as a joint effort. See here: http://bb.ringingworld.co.uk/view.php.... And then we rang a quarter of Superlative on Brian-Aaron Moulder's mini ring. Details here: http://bb.ringingworld.co.uk/view.php.... Day 4 to follow soon. Enjoy.
