The first full day of the 2017 Lilliputters ringing tour. This took us to the Isle of Wight for the day. 1st tower was Godshill: A pleasant 6 cast in 1887 by Llewellins & James. Ringing featured is Grandsire Minor. 2nd tower was Brighstone: One of the last jobs Whitechapel did before closing by augmented the 6 into a lovely light 8. Very nice to ring. Ringing featured here is Grandsire Triples outside and part of 3 leads of Bristol S Major. 3rd tower was Chale: A nice 6 of mostly taylor bells rung from the ground floor. Ringing featured is London S Minor outside and Cambridge S Minor inside. 4th tower was Carisbrooke: Initially a 1921 guillet and johnston ring of 8 augmented with 2 whitechapel trebles in 2002. They are a pleasant ring of 10. Ringing featured here is Grandsire Caters. 5th tower was Ryde, Swanmore: A ring of 3 steel bells with tuning 2, 3 and 3 of 3. These were quite fun to ring and helps if the pulley blocks stay on. Ringing featured here is Rounds, some plain hunt on 3 and 4 (yes we did ring with the dumb bell!). 6th tower was Ryde, All Saints: A good old fashioned taylor heavy 8 cast in 1886. Ringing hear featured Grandsire Major. Some people didn't finish eating before ringing so some either ate while they were ringing or were being fed whilst ringing.
