Our journey begins from Dharchula, a small border town near India–Nepal, and although Darma Valley is just 90 kilometers away, the drive takes around 5–6 hours because of the narrow, broken and challenging mountain roads. As we move deeper into the valley, the landscapes keep getting more dramatic — wide open Himalayan views, river streams crossing the roads, and complete silence of the mountains. We reach the beautiful high-altitude villages of Dugtu and Dantu, which during winter remain completely empty as locals migrate to lower regions. And then comes the highlight — the majestic Panchachuli Peaks, five towering snow-covered summits that dominate the skyline and are deeply connected with local legends and history. Watching them up close is truly a surreal experience.
