This is a playthrough of single-player mode using Chameleon in the Genesis version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. Read on below for more information... Chameleon is an unused character in the game, which makes him a non-selectable character. NOTE: Infinite Lifebar cheat is used to save time and keep video sizes to a minimum due to the later CPU opponents being ridiculously difficult and unfair. ===== GAMEPLAY & INFORMATION ===== Chameleon in this version of the game is quite simply Scorpion without any special moves, fatalities nor dial-a-combos. It's like as if he is a "blank template" male ninja character. It appears that he was originally intended to appear as a hidden character in both the Mega Drive and SNES versions of UMK3, but the character was never finished. Here is the information on him, as follows: ---- His name text on his lifebar actually reads as "CHAMELEON". ---- When he wins a round, his name text actually reads "CHAMELEON WINS". The same goes for when you beat the game with him in the message after Shao Kahn self-destructs. ---- After beating the game with and on the Treasure select screen, his name reads "CHAMELEON". ---- After beating the game with him, if you choose the Tournament Outcome treasure, he actually has an "ending" that does not crash the game, but it's glitched. You can even see his portrait image here, which has glitched colours. You can see this in the video starting around 13:32. ---- His VS screen portrait images have glitched colours, you can see this in the video starting around 16:10. ---- On the character select screen, he appears with Scorpion's colour palette. ---- On the destiny/fight path screen, he uses Kano's icon image. ---- Chameleon's official debut was in Mortal Kombat Trilogy. ---- It is rumored that had he been fully implemented in the SNES and Mega Drive versions of UMK3, he would have been hard-coded with a mixture of the other male ninja's moves instead of the periodic "ninja switching" seen in Mortal Kombat Trilogy. ===== ABOUT GENESIS UMK3 ===== The game is developed by Avalanche Software. As this uses the same code from Sculptured Software's previous port (MK3) on the same size cartridge size (32Mbit), it meant that many cuts had to be made, some of which as follows: ---- The character Sheeva is removed. ---- The announcer voices for the character's names are removed. ---- The Animalities are removed. However the Mercy feature is still intact. However, there were some extras/improvements over the original Arcade UMK3: ---- Rain and Noob Saibot are added to the playable roster. ---- Mileena, Ermac and Classic Sub-Zero are available from the start and are regular characters. ----- Brutalities (from Mortal Kombat Trilogy) were added to the game.
