Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together. Special Thanks to Louisiana French: / @cajunfrenchvideolessons7931 Louisiana Creole: / @christophelandryphd Louisiana French refers to the dialects of French traditionally spoken by French Louisianians in southern Louisiana. Over time, the language has incorporated words from African, Spanish, Native American, and English, giving it unique features. Although it differs from other French dialects, it remains mutually intelligible, particularly with dialects from Missouri, New England, Canada, and northwestern France. Louisiana Creole, or Kouri-Vini, is a French-based Creole language spoken by fewer than 10,000 people, mainly in Louisiana. It is used by individuals of various racial identities, including white, black, mixed, Native American, Cajun, and Creole. Louisiana Creole is distinct from Louisiana French, a dialect of French. Many Louisiana Creoles speak French or English instead of the Creole language. With a declining number of speakers, Louisiana Creole is considered endangered. This video is created for educational, language awareness, and language preservation purposes. It aims to provide valuable insights and knowledge to viewers, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of different languages and their unique characteristics. By raising awareness about linguistic diversity, the video seeks to foster a greater respect and recognition for various languages, particularly those that are endangered or underrepresented. Additionally, it contributes to the preservation of languages by documenting and sharing linguistic knowledge, thus ensuring that these languages and their cultural heritage are not lost to future generations.
