NOTE (2023/06/17): June 15 Patch fixed taunt, so this strategy is useable again. Just keep two things in mind: 1. Time Makima's taunt as close to first Missile Launcher barrage as possible, and 2. Don't destroy both turrets immediately. Let one of them fire at Makima. Otherwise, Makima won't have enough time to taunt the Missile Launcher. Destroy the turret after it's fired. Update 2023/03/04: If you wish to study more footage of me killing Alteisen with a Makima team, you can find three extra kills here: • [Extra Kills] Special Interception: Alteis... But I warn you, it's boring to watch three kills that are mostly similar to each other. Which is the reason I made the video hidden. Of all the Special Interception bosses, Alteisen MK. VI, AKA The Train Boss, is arguably the hardest. The missile launchers have a ridiculously high DPS check, and the damage they deal to your team is outright ludicrous. The only ways to deal with them is to either have DPS so overwhelmingly big that you can kill the launcher and turrets before they fire... or use a trick to dodge the missiles. Noise has always been the to-go tank for this fight. The reasons why is because she's the right size to dodge the green laser missiles and she has a consistent taunt to keep the boss's attention on herself. Noah can keep the aggro on herself consistently, but she's too wide to dodge the missiles. Diesel is the right height to dodge missiles, but her taunt is difficult to get right. But there's still one more problem to solve in Phase 1 that Makima brings a solution to: Turrets. Even if you dodge the green missiles, the turret(s) will still kill one of your team members - unless you get lucky and they miss you. But with Makima, you don't have to pray to Turret RNG; you can tank through the turret fire with Indomitability -buff, which makes Makima unkillable for the entire duration. Makima is the right height to dodge missiles, but her Taunt is trickier. Without proper setup and timing, Makima's taunt will go out of sync and the boss will target someone else. You can pray to Taunt RNG that the boss targets Makima, but I was able to make it consistent enough. Though I can't give a thorough explanation why, having Privaty in your team and Wingman's Cube on Makima makes her taunt the boss at correct intervals. Maybe the reload buff results in more bullets fired, or maybe it shifts the timing of the taunt. Either way, Makima + Privaty are now staples in my Alteisen team. Once you're through Phase 1, all you have to do is intercept the missiles and interruption circle consistently, while also maximizing your DPS on the boss. Which might be tricky, if you don't have high enough damage output for Phase 2. However, with Makima taking the Burst II slot, you're free to use 1-1-3 formation. If you have really great Burst III DPS you want to include in your team, Makima lets you bring three of them.
