Pastor James Wyatt will be preaching from the book of John Chapter 9, Verses 21 to 26. The title of the message is “Bearing witness”. Since Old Testament times, missions has been the prime responsibility of Gods people. The Churches mission is one of offence, not defence. We are called to bear witness of the Light, Jesus Christ. Before we can share the Gospel with anyone, we must have accepted the Gospel as true ourselves. It should be the passion of a Church to send its people out to be missionaries, evangelists, Pastors and teachers. Keeping them at home is defeating the whole purpose of the Church, the people must be sent. It need not send them far, maybe only in their own neighbourhood, but they must be sent. Every Church that is established is given the same commandment, the same commission. There is no end to the process, it must continue for each and every Church that is established. We have the right to give ourselves wholly and fully to the calling which God places on our hearts, because He will provide all our needs. When we have the opportunity to help someone who is carrying out God’s calling in their life, we are to do so, willingly and freely. When we do that, God will provide for us, according to His riches in Glory. For those who do not have a calling to GO, they have a calling to remain and provide to those who are sent. Both sides are crucial to the furtherance of the Gospel, for one cannot survive without the other. If we have been blessed with the world’s goods and we see a brother in need, we are to fulfil that need as far as we are able to. The perfect, holy, righteous God became sin for us so that we could obtain His righteousness and thereby be reconciled to God. We are ambassadors of that message, to proclaim that Gospel message to as many lost souls as we are able to, without excuse, without delay and without complaint.
