Joining Van Life, Knik Gravel Bar Fun, and Potential Emergency Gear Up Landing at Merrill Field

This weekend Rachael went and bought a new to her van, which we'll hopefully get to explore Alaska with this summer. We hopped in the plane and flew from Anchorage up to her parent's house so that she could go get the van and drive it back. Meanwhile, I flew over to the Knik and attempted some gravel bar landings, unfortunately the wind was blowing hard and there was also a good amount of turbulence. You can even see the camera bouncing up and down due to all of the turbulence. So, I ended up calling the day short and heading back to Merrill Field. On my way back, I ended coming in at the same time that a potential emergency landing was taking place. The N993AK airplane was not getting the "green lights" indicating that their landing gear was down. After a pass by the tower, they ended up calling their company and it seems they were able to get the gear down manually. The passed by the tower on a low approach again, just so they could verify that the wheel were indeed down.
