In a major boost to the healthcare sector, the Odisha government has approved a salary hike for contractual AYUSH doctors working under the National Health Mission (NHM). The decision has been taken to recognize their contribution and motivate them in strengthening public healthcare services. As per the new decision, AYUSH doctors will receive a monthly salary increase ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹40,000 based on their years of service. Doctors with less than 5 years of service will get a ₹20,000 hike, raising the minimum salary to ₹56,948 per month. Those with 5–10 years of service will receive a ₹25,000 hike, taking their salary to ₹74,467. Doctors with 10–15 years of experience will see a ₹30,000 increase, reaching ₹80,467 per month. AYUSH doctors with over 15 years of service will get the highest hike of ₹40,000, with salaries rising to ₹91,467 per month.
