LA PESCA TRADIZIONALE L’essenza e la storia di Fano sono legate indissolubilmente allo sviluppo della zona portuale.Il porto, realizzato nel 1616, inizia con la Darsena Borghese, il canale più anticoe principale collegamento al mare, che deve il suo nome a colui che ne ordinò l’esecuzione: Papa Paolo V Borghese. Nel tempo furono realizzate le altre darsene costruite in funzione delle attività portuali. L’area portuale è stata poi adattataalle esigenze economiche. I cantieri per la realizzazione di natanti in ferro - e successivamente in vetroresina - hanno sostituito i vecchi cantieri, trasferiti poi nell’entroterra per esigenze di spazio. Oggi la superficie portuale comprende anche la passeggiata del Lisippo e i quadri, che sono tra i luoghi più caratteristici del lungo mare.
