2019 Subaru Forester Rear Brake Pad and Rotor Replacement Tools Jack Jack Stands Wrench Torque wrench 19mm socket 17mm socket 7mm hex socket Flat-head screwdriver or small pry bar Disc Brake Piston Tool (KTC disc parking tool rotor (E-F) ABX 104; OTC brake caliper tool adapter No. 7317A or equivalent) Wire brushes and/or file Anti-Seize Brake Grease Brake Parts Cleaner Hook/Wire to support removed caliper Parts Brake Pads (Part No.26696AL01A) Rotors (x2) (Part No. 26700SJ000) Caliper Spring Clips (x2, optional) (Part No. 26632AL000) Equipment Gloves Towels/paper cloth Directions Jack up car Remove wheels Unplug power to EPB Remove caliper spring/clip (flat-head screwdriver/pry-bar) Remove 2 caps from caliper slider pins Remove 2 caliper slider pins (7mm hex) Remove caliper Depress pistons with dic piston brake tool Set caliper aside with hook Remove brake pads Remove 2 caliper bracket bolts (17mm socket) Remove rotor Clean hub surface with wire brushes and brake parts cleaner Apply anti-seize to hub surface Clean both surfaces of new rotor with brake parts cleaner and cloth Place new rotor on hub and use 1 lug nut to hold in place Clean caliper bracket ends with wire brush and brake parts cleaner Apply brake grease to caliper bracket Re-install caliper bracket with (2) 17mm bolts (17mm socket). TORQUE: 54 ft-lb Apply brake grease to outer surfaces of brake pads 9optional) Install new brake pads Clean slide pins with brake parts cleaner Apply brake grease to caliper slide pins Re-install caliper Re-install slide pins TORQUE: 18.4 ft-lb Re-install caps on caliper slider pins Re-install caliper spring/clip Remove lug nut from rotor Reinstall wheels and lug nuts TORQUE: 89 ft-lb Remove jack stands Depress brake pedal slowly a few times to seat brake pads
