This vlog is about a safe way to visit San Salvador downtown. We take a FREE tour of the downtown area of San Salvador - the capital of El Salvador in Central America. We booked the tour online with EC Tours after hearing parts of El Salvador and San Salvador are dangerous and not very safe. Our travel guide was amazingly knowledgeable and told us the history of the country and showed us all the top sights in the centre of the city. We found the churches and the market amazing.We paid the guide a $10 tip each at the end of the 2.5 hour tour. We found San Salvador fairly safe to walk around in during daylight as long as we stuck to the main busy streets and were careful as always to not show items of wealth etc. If you are travelling / backpacking El Salvador then consider taking the free tour as a introduction to the city.
