After six days at Berg-en-Dal, it was time for a change of scenery. In this episode of our five-week self-drive safari through Kruger National Park, we pack up and travel east toward Crocodile Bridge Rest Camp. After settling in at Crocodile Bridge, we head out for a short afternoon drive, spotting wildebeest and more birdlife before a quieter evening. The next morning, we follow the S28 toward Lower Sabie, and this road delivers one of the most special moments of our trip so far: A cheetah mother with two cubs. Cheetah are rarely seen in Kruger, with only a few hundred individuals estimated in the entire park. Watching a mother and her young move through the open bush is both emotional and unforgettable.
