An incredibly easy and flavourful salmon fish soup. Add 50 ml of vodka, and it'll completely elevate the flavour! Before you scroll away — no, it doesn’t taste like alcohol. The alcohol evaporates during cooking, but here’s the magic: Vodka enhances and brightens the natural flavour of the salmon. It helps release aromatic compounds from the bay leaves and peppercorns. It slightly sharpens the broth, making it cleaner and more balanced. It reduces any overly “fishy” taste. It adds subtle depth without overpowering the soup. Ingredients: 200 g salmon fillet (skin removed) 1 onion (chopped) 1 medium carrot (chopped) 2 medium potatoes (chopped) Salt & pepper 2 bay leaves 10 whole peppercorns 50 ml vodka Fresh parsley & dill How I Made It: Place salmon in water and bring to a boil. Remove the scum. Add chopped onion, carrot, and potatoes. Add salt, pepper, bay leaves, and peppercorns. Boil for 15 minutes. Add 50 ml vodka, keep lid open, boil another 15 minutes (alcohol evaporates). Finish with fresh parsley and dill. Would you try vodka in soup?
