1926 Chelsea Ship's Bell Clock Inspection for Steve from Georgia

Steve shipped this 1926 Negus Chelsea Ship's Bell clock to a clock shop in Utah, they claimed they had a Chelsea Certified Specialists and would make the clock like new again. The Certified Specialist said the balance wheel needed to be replaced and parts were not available so he could fabricate a new balance wheel. And would test it for a couple of months before shipping it back. The Certified Specialist had his Chelsea for two years!! When the clock finally arrived the first thing the Steve noticed was the F/S lever was set to full fast - it was at that point Steve knew he was in trouble. He shipped his clock to my shop for Inspection. What I found inside his clock that was serviced by this Certified Specialist surprised me.
