Ubud, Bali. Thursday, 12 February 2026. This afternoon, steady heavy rain pours over Ubud, Bali, creating a dramatic and atmospheric setting in one of the island’s most famous cultural destinations. Rather than waiting for the rain to stop, we take this as an opportunity to capture the unique rainy mood of Ubud Town. We begin our walking tour along Monkey Forest Street, where umbrellas open and tourists move quickly between shops, cafés, and shelters. The rain gives the street a reflective glow, making the surroundings feel even more cinematic. Continuing north, we arrive opposite Ubud Palace, right at Ubud Town Square, the central meeting point of the town. Even in heavy rain, the area remains active, with visitors navigating puddles and seeking cover. We then walk along the Ubud Art Market Sidewalk, where many tourists gather under awnings to stay dry. The market area, usually bustling under sunny skies, feels different but still lively under the constant tropical rainfall. From there, we turn right into Karna Street, then left through Dewisita Street, passing boutique shops and cosy cafés adjusting to the wet weather. We continue by turning right onto Hanoman Street, one of Ubud’s main roads filled with guesthouses, restaurants, and small businesses. Next, we turn right again into Goutama Selatan Street, walking steadily along this popular culinary strip until it connects with Goutama Street, a favourite evening dining spot for many visitors. Reaching the northern end of Goutama Street, we turn left onto Ubud Main Street (Jalan Raya Ubud) and make our way back to Ubud Town Square, completing this rainy afternoon loop through central Ubud. This rainy walking tour of Ubud shows a different side of Bali — moody, vibrant, and full of character. If you enjoy experiencing destinations in real, unfiltered conditions, this wet-season walk through Ubud Town offers an authentic glimpse of Bali beyond sunny postcards. If you’re visiting during the rainy season, don’t forget to bring an umbrella or rain jacket ☔🌿 Thanks for walking with us in Ubud, Bali :))
