The cleavage is incomplete, forming a blastodisc (blastomeres on top of the yolk) and a blastoderm (surrounding the yolk). This type is typical in eggs of birds, reptiles, and fish. Discoidal Cleavage: This is a specific form of meroblastic cleavage where the division occurs only in the blastodisc, a disc-shaped layer of cells on top of the yolk. It is seen in birds and reptiles. The type of cleavage a developing embryo undergoes depends on factors such as the amount and distribution of yolk in the egg.
