Governor Hamutumwa highlighted Hishoono's lifelong dedication to the liberation cause and his pivotal contributions to the Swapo Party. She portrayed him as a principal leader, mentor, and devoted patriot whose legacy of sacrifice, guidance, and leadership will remain an inspiration for future generations. "We are here to offer our condolences and assure you that, as a region and a nation, we stand with you during this difficult period of mourning," Hamutumwa said. "We all know the important role played by the late Hishoono during the liberation struggle and after Namibia's independence. As a child of the liberation struggle, I feel we have lost a father. Under his guidance – along with many others – we navigated the struggle, and even after returning from exile, he continued to offer valuable advice and leadership to the ruling party and government." Ohangwena Swapo Party Coordinator Joshua Phillemon echoed the sentiments, describing Hishoono as a custodian of Namibian history and a revered elder who devoted time to educating communities on the nation's journey before and after independence.
