Milwaukee Road 32A roars to life in the form of a load test! The Friends of The Friends of The 261 ran the veteran E9 locomotive through the paces. As it notched up, it created a great smoke show as its two EMD 567 engines roared to life. It was delightful to hear this streamliner roar in run 8, smoke, and get put through the paces. This is the only load test I've seen via a drone, and it gives us a very unique very of all the smoke and carbon being kicked out. This EMD E9 will be one of the featured units at Union Depot's Train days this coming weekend. If you're looking for a lot of smoke, that starts at the 3:21 mark in the video. An added bonus in all of this was seeing Northstar pull past; seeing a modern passenger train pull past the older equipment was a neat then and now type of view.
