Workouts do NOT need to always be hard or crush you to be effective; lower intensity mobility and core workouts can help improve joint range of motion and tissue extensibility - both of which can help to improve overall movement skill. Remember - exercise is movement and movement is a skill that can be enhanced with the proper practice. I’m 47 at the time of filming this and while I’ve been active my whole life, I’d never consider myself a great athlete, however because I’ve made this type of mobility training a key component of my fitness program - I do a workout like this at least twice a week - I have been able to improve my coordination and movement skill as I get older. Mobility training combined with strength and power training - on other days - can lead to higher levels of fitness which, as I define it, is having the ability to do what you want to do when you want to do it.
