On this episode of Trout Towns, were in Culpepper Virginia - your homebase for fly fishing the storied native brooke trout streams tumbling down from Shenandoah National Park. Our first stop on this trip will be to the Rapidan River. This small sized Appalachian freestone trout stream made famous by President Hoovers fish camp is the quintessential Shenandoah brookie stream. We’ll then make out way to another one of eastern Shenandoah's premiere rivers which highlights the incredible eastern US extensive native brook trout fish habitat. While in town, we’ll then explore Culpepper’s rich historical past, from the colonial and revolutionary war era, through the civil war, up until today, this town has many interesting tidbits for the intrepid historian. We’ll also highlight some of Culpepper's historically significant architecture, including colonial revival, queen anne, and neoclassical.
