Inspired by the work of Planet Wild, I’m testing a concept called Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR). Instead of fighting the land or babying expensive nursery saplings, I’m looking at the "underground forest" already here: native shrubs like Catclaw Acacia and Desert Olive—and trying to prune them into becoming actual trees. This episode is a "grading my homework" session. We revisit Lone Tree, a success story from two years ago, but also look at a "learning opportunity" where I pruned a Desert Olive so aggressively it went into severe shock.
