(https://itwmorlock.com/pad-print-digi...) This fully- automated Morlock pad printer, (or MRT), delivers 3-color decoration on the plastic housing component of a Bosch battery pack used in electric bicycles. The pad print line features 16 stations arranged in a circle on a WEISS digital ring, ensuring high-precision positioning. At the first station, pieces are manually loaded, and the machine is activated with a tactile contact button. A digital clamping system ensures precise positioning. The system is composed entirely of CE elements interacting with safety light curtains. At the second station, an electropneumatic pusher ensures proper fitting of the piece into the fixture. Next, we can see the user interface, a Siemens control system. This user-friendly unit allows individual control over each station within the printing line. The Siemens control unit can store multiple printing programs to facilitate quick changeovers in the types of pieces to be decorated. An electromechanical Morlock SealCup Express pad print machine applies the first color to the component. Double-strike decoration ensures the required opacity is achieved and an air-blowing system accelerates solvent evaporation. The SealCup Express provides a range of additional benefits. The system´s thick steel clichés ensure a longer lifespan than alternative systems. All heads are equipped with Morlock MCI ink cups, which reduce the need for spare parts and simplify system set-up and changeovers. The pad print pads are cleaned inline, generating additional time savings. Each of the printing stations in this automated pad print line is followed by an infrared drying station. The second color and the third color, (white and silver), are then added with double strike decoration following the same sequence as the first color. Two ventilated air modules perform post-decoration drying to ensure the parts are cooled, and the excess ink solvent is evaporated. Finally, the pieces go through a camera-driven quality control station before being transferred to the belt en route to a packaging station. Any piece that is not perfectly decorated is automatically ejected down an inclined ramp. The machine can run at speeds of up to 900 pph.
