The FASTER Project hosted EV Talk Live at the Nevis Centre in Fort William on Saturday 26th August. In this new series of films you can catch up on the discussion panel sessions which took place on the day chaired by Dr Euan Mc Turk (Plug Life Consulting), Kate Tyrrell (ChargeSafe) and Gary McRae (Urban Foresight). In this panel session Kate Tyrrell is joined by panelists Rebecca Hansen (Wyre), Lorna McAtear (National Grid), Janice Laurie (Women Drive Electric) and Heather Kennedy (Scottish EV Drivers Club) to explore why fewer women are driving electric vehicles and what more can be down to encourage them to make the switch. The FASTER Project is a joint initiative by partners in Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland to support the overarching ambition to transition to low carbon transport systems. The project partnership will implement the physical roll out and installation of 73 rapid (50KW capacity) electric vehicle charging stations in the programme area before May 2023. The FASTER Project aims to ensure that the availability of public charging stations is not a major obstacle to Electric Vehicle (EV) market penetration.
