Now this is next-level floor lettering! (No pun intended) I've seen this system used in places like Massey University, but that's just five floors (A–E) compared to 20 here (A–T). These lifts are some 2010 OTIS Gen2 MRLs with Optima fixtures and fully-fledged floor lettering. These lifts also have a voice, but the floor messages have been disabled for all but G (probably because they don't have the messages for letter floors), which just uses the “Ground floor” message. I think it's actually really clever how G is the lobby & reception floor for the apartment building, purely because it can be referred to as the ground floor. However, do note that G in these elevators—and the entire building, for that matter—is actually 7 in the traditional numbering. Not 6, because this building uses the American floor numbering, which counts from 1 instead of G/0. I know this because the service elevators use the floor numbering system — stay tuned for that video! The (pedestrian) entrance to the carpark from Nova Street is literally like walking into a regular multi-storey car park, so I had no idea that these lifts are shared with the apartment building above until I saw so many floors served!
