Welcome to a new Baking Advent Calendar, where I will be uploading a new baking video every day in December until Christmas! Today's recipe is Rosettes or Struvor as they are called here in Sweden. Crispy deep fried batter, coated in cinnamon sugar. Come back every day until Christmas for a new recipe! Recipe: Ingredients: 120g Plain Flour 24g Sugar 1 Egg Yolk 200ml Milk Oil for deep frying Sugar + Cinnamon Directions: Heat the oil in a deep based pan to 180c, place the iron cookie mold in the oil while it is heating. Places a kitchen roll sheet on a plate to place the fried cookies on when they come out of the oil. Mix the cinnamon and sugar in a bowl that you can fit the rosettes in. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and sugar. Add the egg yolk and milk to the centre of the bowl and whisk, gradually incorporating the milk. This will help achieve a lumpless batter. Once the oil has reached 180c, remove the iron and dip into the batter for around 5 seconds, then place back in the oil and fry for 45-50 seconds, until the cookies are golden brown and crispy. Place them on the kitchen roll. You may need a fork to help you remove them from the iron. Place iron back in the oil while you finish the cookie. Once drained for a couple of seconds, place immediately in the cinnamon sugar and coat completely. Then place them on a separate plate. Repeat with all of the batter.
