Day 11 – Islands of Adventure | Universal Orlando 🌴🎢 Peak day at Islands of Adventure and honestly… it was brilliant from start to finish! Staying at Portofino Bay meant early park entry from 8am, so we jumped on the water taxi and were riding Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure by 8:20am. Not a bad way to start the morning 😍 Last time we visited, Bella was too small for most of the rides. This time she’s tall enough (even if she wasn’t totally convinced). Brave girl pants were well and truly on, and Hagrid’s ended up being her absolute favourite – by our fourth ride we were hands in the air like total pros 🙌 With Express Passes, we managed to complete every ride by lunchtime. Queue times were so low I nearly told Charlie we didn’t need to pay extra for the hotel… but let’s be honest, he doesn’t do social media and will never see this 😂 He loved the hotel though and has already agreed we’ll stay there again. Win win. I’ve been dropping not-so-subtle Halloween Horror Nights hints for days, but no one caught on. I did get a sneak preview of the horror when Goblin decided to make us his victims – scaring Lola half to death and chasing us into Doctor Doom’s queue. The ride itself was actually relaxing after that 😅 If that’s daytime, I’m definitely not ready for HHN… And then there’s VelociCoaster. What. A. Ride. Absolutely sensational. Top tip: Row 12, arms up, enjoy the airtime.
