Up to a million passengers ride the Prague metro every day. Are you one of them? Then maybe every day you unknowingly pass through the most beautiful station or ride in the most full carriage. We focused on records and interesting things from the Prague metro in the latest episode of the series Žít Prahu. The fastest and slowest escalators Have you ever noticed that old escalators are much faster than new ones? This is for safety reasons. And where can you enjoy the fastest escalators? For example, on Florence when exiting B, on Českomoravská or on Náměstí Republiky towards Masaryčka. Where, on the contrary, the stairs do not "run" at all? For example, on Palmovka or Můstek. By the way, have you noticed that the handrail always comes off on the escalators? You will find out why in the video! The longest escalators You can find them at Náměstí Míru station. After all, they are the longest escalators in the territory of the European Union, and the station is also the deepest station of the entire Prague metro. Longest and shortest intervals When the subway passes in front of you, you will wait for the next station for the shortest time - there is not even a 2-minute interval during peak hours. On the contrary, you will experience the longest wait at A, where the interval is 2.5 minutes. The longest and shortest path The longest ride is between Kobylisy and Nádraží Holešovice stations, the distance between them is 2,748 meters and takes 3 minutes. Conversely, the shortest route is between Muzeum and Hlavní nádraží stations, it is only 425 meters long. The most full and the emptiest wagon Where do subway passengers squeeze the most? Between IP Pavlova and Vyšehrad. IP Pavlova has long been the busiest station. On the contrary, the Kolbenova station is free of crowds and therefore the least busy. The most beautiful and the ugliest station According to the American news station CNN, the most beautiful station is Staroměstská on line A, which was ranked among the 12 most beautiful metro stations in all of Europe. On the contrary, the ugliest station, according to Prague residents themselves, is Vltavská on route C. You will learn a lot of other interesting things in the video! And what about you? Do you use the uderground when traveling around Prague? If so, let us know in the comments how satisfied you are with it. And if you can think of any other interesting thing or record from the Prague metro, be sure to write it down! 0:00 Records from the Prague metro 0:59 The fastest and slowest escalators 2:03 The mystery of the sliding handrail 2:35 The longest escalators 2:55 Shortest and longest interval 3:13 Longest and shortest journey between stations 3:46 The busiest station 4:06 The least busy station 4:17 The most beautiful station 4:50 The Ugliest Station 5:33 Tunnels under the Vltava River After all, we have already dedicated a video to pearls about the Prague underground, it is definitely worth watching: • 7 perliček o pražském metru, kterými ...
