Canadian National Missabe Sub Railfanning - DM&IR EMD Locomotives A winter railfan trip on the CN Missabe Sub back in February of 2008. We start the day at the CN yard in Proctor then make our way up to the siding at South Coons and fine a BNSF All-Rail taconite train departing. Afterwards we go to Alborn, MN for a meet between a CN freight and an empty Limestone train lead by DMIR 412, DMIR 405 and DMIR 403. We follow this train back to the Proctor Yard. Later we make our way up to Fairlane to see a loaded T-Bird with DMIR 214 and DMIR 211 followed by an empty taconite train lead by BLE 903 and DMIR 400. At Largo we see DMIR 303 and 308. To end the day watch the BLE 903 depart from Utah with a loaded with taconite. EMD power included SD40-3, SD-M, SD-38 and more. 00:00 Proctor Yard 00:21 BNSF All-Rail - South Coons 01:50 Alborn, MN 02:57 DMIR 412 - Limestone empty 05:41 DMIR 412 - Munger 06:47 DMIR 412 - Proctor 07:59 DMIR 214 T-Bird - Fairlane 10:15 BLE 903 Tac empty - Fairlane 11:39 IC 6258 11:53 CN 8814 13:04 DMIR 303 T-Bird - Largo 16:59 DMIR 214 T-Bird 19:00 Mintac tac empty - Forbes 20:23 BLE 903 - Utac taconite loads The Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range Railway (DM&IR) (reporting mark DMIR), informally known as the Missabe Road, was a railroad operating in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin that used to haul iron ore and later taconite to the Great Lakes ports of Duluth and Two Harbors, Minnesota. Control of the railway was acquired on May 10, 2004, by the Canadian National Railway (CN) when it purchased the assets of Great Lakes Transportation. #mnrails #cn #missabe #dmir / mnrailsproductions https://www.flickr.com/photos/schrist... / schristie1970
