In this video, Jesse Dietrick, CSCS, from Fitness Quest 10, shows 10 mobility exercises to use prior to working out. These exercises help identify areas of concern and work through exercises to gain new found range of motion. Since most people lack mobility in hips and thoracic spine and have poor glute activation it is important to include exercises such as these. The purpose of this is to help activate dormant muscles, increase range of motion, increase blood flow, and help develop a mind body connection that may be not as existent outside of exercising. By implementing these exercises into your warm-up you can help develop range of motion, body awareness, and get out of “work” mode and into “work-out” mode. Perform each of these exercises for about 30-60 seconds focusing more time on greater areas of concern. Perform these exercises regularly to maximize benefits.
