The Magpies come for a surprise bale!!! Mum, Dad and Junior - Australian birds

I thought it'd be months before the magpies wanted another bale but yesterday Mum got right in my face in the garden and I figured I knew what she wanted. She followed me and waited while I set up the camera. Then Junior rocked up, followed a bit later by Dad. YAY!!! At 5:45 a Blue-faced honeyeater arrives in a nearby banana tree to eat some nectar from the banana flowers. It attracted the attention of the magpies. You can hear the BFH chirping. As it goes up at the end of the note it sounds like it's asking a series of questions. I was intending to remove the remains of the plant she's sitting on at the start but if it's a good perch...mind you, it's ugly and pretty much dead. I saw one other chick who hung back. Just one. That might not mean anything. It's too early to say if they are going to become regulars again. I've been in the veg patch pretty much every afternoon lately, I've seen them around while I was working but this is the first bale they've wanted for ages. Maybe they were missing those sweet, sweet roaches and are a bit tired of grasshoppers. Fingers crossed they come back for roaches and worms. I think the rain has finished for a while.
