Stepping back in time to before the magpies had kids, things were a bit different back in May. No responsibilities – except of course territorial defence – and all you had to worry about was getting enough to eat and drink. No surprise to anyone but I've got a lot of footage of the magpies just hanging out at the birdbath and I want to share it. Obviously this is May 2024, clips all in chronological order for no reason other than I prefer it that way and there are supporting characters! The clip starting at 6:30 has a strong supporting cast and one Little friarbird seems to be a bit nervous around the magpie – there are numerous fly-bys and aborted attempts to land on the birdbath. Is this all him? Or is she involved somewhere? Anyway, this is all of the previously unseen May magpie footage. There's some great background calls in some of the clips. Hope you like it.
