This has been a wonderful year for snow and its still going! I thought it would be great to show everyone what skiing in March can look like in Myoko, Niigata, Japan. This video shows one of the special ski days we can get in springtime in a day in my life style video. Why do I like spring skiing? March skiing can be perfect conditions just like in this video because slopes are quieter and days are longer. For tourists and visitors the accommodation often have cheaper rates. There are Plus, some ski resorts offer discounted lift tickets. That said, snowfall becomes significantly less consistent, and some local businesses begin to close for the season. Pros of March Skiing: Quieter slopes with fewer crowds Longer daylight hours Discounts at accommodations and resorts Cons of March Skiing: Less consistent snowfall Variable snow conditions Some businesses start closing for the season What to Expect Throughout March: Early March: Occasional powder days, relatively good snow conditions. Mid-March: Transition period with variable conditions. Snowpack drops. Late March: Dominated by spring skiing conditions, with potential to enjoy early cherry blossoms. Of course, you never really know with the weather—but you might get lucky just like today. In 2024, March 27 was the last heavy dump of snow which was one of the best days of the season with the added bonus of pleasant weather and long daylight hours.
