I think it's a whole lot more fun using the open strings on the bass fill, but phil usually slides up for it. There are other things to do that make this one a lot more fun, but I'm doing it as faithfully to the original as I can (as usual) I've learned other thin lizzy tunes and they were usually in Eb, though i learned this one in E. Live, he does Eb, but this is in E on the record. overall, very simple. Much simpler than i thought it would be, but still fun    • Thin Lizzy - Cold Sweat (Live, 1983)   my favorite performance of the song. Sykes is killer on guitar 0:52 - moves up for the fill instead of open strings 1:04 - shows 5 and 7 in chorus 2:21 - shows Phill doing two upstrokes in the solo 3:18 - phil stays at frets 4,5,7. no sliding down    • Thin Lizzy - Cold Sweat (1983 TV)   0:45 - you can see the fill positioning at 4,5,7 Again in general, he's driving the song with the 8th notes on the 2 of the E. occasionally he'll follow the guitars with the 2 and 0 on the A with the syncopated transitions.
