It entered service in August 2017 - slightly earlier than the 10/09/17 Mainline launch. Nottingham Manvers Street depot spares 109 (YX17 NTK), 110 and 145 (YY69 TMX) are fitted with six cylinder engines. The remaining two Enviro 200 MMC spares, 216 (YY18 TSU) and 217 (YY18 TSV), feature less powerful four cylinder engines. All are paired with a Voith gearbox. On this occasion, 110 is covering for a branded 67-plated Enviro 200 MMC. It puts in a nice performance on this relatively fast section of route. Noticeably, the Voith whistle (which can be heard when braking) is quite high-pitched. Unfortunately, there was major congestion heading into Long Eaton - the tailbacks stretching as far as Sawley Marina. That did give me more time to appreciate the orange mood lighting though. It compliments the Mango branding well. Overall, a decent journey on 110. I would've preferred a faster Sawley Marina section, but the congestion is to be expected at rush hour. Also, I prefer the acceleration and soundtrack of 109, since that remains my favourite Trent Barton Enviro 200 MMC.
