Big Brake Upgrade – Rear Brembos Installed & Front Mock-Up Complete! | Quack_Fab Welcome back to Quack_Fab! In today’s episode, I’m installing the rear Brembo brakes and wrapping up the front Brembo mock-up on my ’91 C1500 build. Last time, I ran out of daylight before getting the front calipers mounted. That sent me down a rabbit hole of tracking down the correct bolts—turns out the thread size for the C1500 spindle is M11-1.5, same as GM LS flexplate bolts. (Thanks for the wild goose chase, ChatGPT ) I 3D printed some temporary brackets in Fusion 360 to dial in the fitment, and now that everything is mocked up, it’s looking great. The fronts went from 11” single piston to 14” 4-piston Brembos, and the rears went from drums to 14” rotors with 4-piston calipers—a serious brake upgrade! Also sharing some rotor runout measurements and explaining why all this mock-up work was needed before fabricating the front shock mounts, which are coming up in the next episode.
