Berner Oberland alpine journey south beside the BLS train driver from Bern to Brig and back, along the Aare valley along SBB/CFF route to Thun, the Lötschberg line via Spiez, zig-zagging and looping to gain height. The route is now a popular tourist thoroughfare linking Switzerland's capital city to Italy via Simplon with many mountain views. This 1959 original 8mm silent cine film uniquely captures vintage rail operations with narration voiced by Paul Russenberger in 1999.
