We, their heart, they, these people that are living here, some illegal, some legally, they're working their way to get through this world in these trying times where America's so full of division and right now we need to be united as one. And right now, that's what we're doing, United as one, exercising our voices, our rights to protest." 12. Various of students protesting STORYLINE: Students at a school in Suwanee, Georgia walked out today, chanting and protesting in opposition to recent ICE activities across the nation. Protesters across the U.S. are calling for “no work, no school, no shopping” as part of a nationwide strike on Friday to oppose the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown. The demonstrations are taking place amid widespread outrage over the killing of Alex Pretti, an intensive care unit nurse who was shot multiple times after he used his cellphone to record Border Patrol officers conducting an immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis. The death heightened scrutiny over the administration’s tactics after the Jan. 7 death of Renee Good, who was fatally shot behind the wheel of her vehicle by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer.
