Kayak Camping Round Valley Reservoir Day 3. This is Day 3 of our Kayak Camping Trip to Round Valley Reservoir September 24th, - 26th. We all had a great night sleep, I got up fairly early, started a fire and started to break camp, shortly after we extinguished the fire, packed up the kayaks and started the paddle back to the parking lot. The trip back was a workout, we hit 20mph winds and it took nearly 2 hours to paddle 2.25 miles across the reservoir. Halfway across my right arm went numb but I powered through it and it eventually passed. Adam pulled ahead of me a good bit and was at the shore line 10 or 15 minutes ahead of me, Jim was about 5 minutes behind me. I wanted to turn around and check to see where Jim was, but I was afraid to turn around and risk capsizing. I waited until I was closer to shore and the wind wasn't as bad.
