Cancer Bioinformatics: Pt7 WebGestalt and Illumina

This video was recorded from a Clinical Translational Workshop (CTW), or half-day immersion experience in bioinformatics for the Cancer Research Experience for Undergraduates (CREU) 2021 summer research fellowship. The CREU program is funded by a NIH R25 Education grant led by Drs. Mary Reyland and John Tentler at the University of Colorado Denver. The bioinformatics portion of the CREU program was led by Dr. Michael Edwards, CEO of Bioinfo Solutions. This section of the workshop was a hands-on tutorial using WebGestalt to examine the top 200 genes (based on r-value) that were negatively correlated to STK11 gene expression in the TCGA Lung Adenocarcinoma database (n=515). I also mention comparative database tools and use Correlation Engine (Illumina) to give a short demo on related disease and drug studies to our list of positive and negative correlated genes to Stk11.
