Today I cooked a delicious and traditional Godavari style village curry using country chicken eggs, dry prawns, and fresh drumsticks. This is an authentic old-fashioned Andhra recipe full of rich flavors and aroma. First, I soaked the dry prawns in water, cleaned them thoroughly, and kept them aside. I boiled the country eggs, removed the shells, and cut fresh drumsticks into pieces. Tamarind was soaked and pulp was extracted. In a traditional pan, I heated oil and fried the dry prawns until aromatic, then kept them aside. In the same oil, I fried the boiled eggs lightly for extra taste. Then I sautéed onions until light brown, added drumstick pieces, red chili powder, turmeric, and cooked well. After adding water and allowing it to boil, I added the fried eggs and dry prawns along with green chilies and salt. The curry was slow-cooked on low flame for rich flavor. Finally, tamarind pulp was added and cooked until the gravy thickened beautifully. Fresh curry leaves were added at the end for aroma. This curry tastes absolutely amazing when mixed with hot rice. The combination of country eggs, dry prawns, and drumsticks gives a unique traditional Andhra village flavor that reminds us of old times.
