UNDP Djibouti: Increasing access to TB services for refugees

Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the top 10 causes of death worldwide. Finding the people who fail to be diagnosed, treated or reported is a major challenge in the fight against TB, and contributes to the growing problem of drug-resistant TB. The government of Djibouti, in partnership with UNDP, UNHCR and the Global Fund are working to bring TB diagnosis and treatment facilities into refugee camps, increase awareness, reduce stigma and stop the spread of TB. Fatouma fled conflict in Somalia and lives in Ali Adeh refugee camp, the largest refugee camp in Djibouti. Last year she was diagnosed with TB. Ahead of World TB Day, she tells her story.
