TALK Residency mentor, Olusegun Adejumo, also shares the beauty of residencies and what he's observed spending time mentoring the Artists so far. 1 Location • 5 Days • 5 Artists • 5 Mentors: 𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐊 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 is an immersive and participatory programme, designed to give visual artists a rounded, transformational experience. HOW IT ALL BEGAN: Some months ago, in 2021, as part of our mission to Impact, Support, Educate & Empower Visual Artists, 'Art for a Reason, Africa' started 'The Artist Ladder Konnect [TALK]', an online series that was insightful, engaging, and impactful. After a successful online run, with positive reviews and testimonials, it we have now launched an a more thorough, in-person version; 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐋𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐊𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 [𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐊] 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲. TALK Residency is presented in two phases; On-site and Off-site. PHASE 1: On-site --- 1 Location, 5 Days, 5 Artists, 5 Mentors. Dates: 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟔 – 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏 • A 5-day local residency designed to bring together young [emerging & mid-career] artists to operate outside their usual environment, providing them a space, as well as time to engage, reflect, connect and produce compelling work. PHASE 2: For the next 3 months , we will be mentoring our Residents through various activities and events. 🔸🔸 [The Artist Ladder Konnect] TALK Residency is powered by 'Art For A Reason, Africa' and The Artist Ladder... ... with support from Goethe Nigeria, Onedraw Gallery, and 'The Love Portion'.
