Orzhov Vampire Control stomps all aggro | 73% win rate | OTJ MTG Arena Standard

I’m a huge fan of this deck, which is an Orzhov Control shell that uses a few control-friendly Vampires as part of the game plan rather than the more typical Planeswalker package. Evelyn is a control player’s best friend, playing at instand speed and potentially drawing tons of cards. And Edgar can almost single-handedly defeat most aggro decks in the format if you can live until turn 4. But with OTJ we got two new interesting additions. One is Ruthless Lawbringer, who is a Vampire Vindicate. The other is Kambal, Profiteering Mayor, who is not a Vampire (if only!), but who still works very well with our token making sub-theme, and is just great against many decks in the format on its own. And because we’re using these two who work so well with tokens, we’ve also included a copy of the new Kaya, who fits in really well. And as we’ll see in one of the games, Kaya’s Surveil ability makes for a great combo with Sorin’s card draw ability if you get them both down at the same time.
