Gran Turismo 7 is coming out in March 2022, so I want to try to get a good amount of completion in all of the previous Gran Turismo games until then. Here you can see me completing the Sunday Cup, FF Cup and World Compact Car Cup in Gran Turismo 5. After that I moved to PC though, so I never got to play GT 4-6. Before GT7 I want to try to revisit GT 1-3 and also play through GT 4-6 for the first time. I am not sure if I will manage to get all of it done but I will see how far I can get. Today I can finally present you my first video of Gran Turismo 5. I have never played this game in the past and I barely even knew anything about it, so I will be discovering this game together with you in this playthrough. GT5 works a bit differently from all the previous main GT games. The licenses are completely optional and not needed to enter any cups. Instead you unlock more races by raising your driver level, which will also give you access to additional cars at the dealers. The game is split into the A-Spec and B-Spec modes. B-Spec has exactly the same cups as A-Spec but in B-Spec you are not driving yourself. Instead you are managing an AI driver by telling him to go faster or slower. This was already a thing in GT4 but in that game it was completely optional. In GT5 you have to play B-Spec to fully complete the game and get all of the reward cars. I will be playing B-Spec as well but I will not be showing it in my videos, so you will see my B-Spec level and my account balance change between episodes. Gran Turismo 5 has over 1000 cars but most of them can only be found at the used car dealer and this dealer only has a small selection of cars at any time, so if you are looking for a specific car it can be very difficult to get because it may take forever to show up at the dealer. As my first car I picked up a Mitsubishi Mirage, which was good enough to win all of the first 3 cups without upgrades. In the World Compact Car Cup we get to see 3 completely new tracks with London, Madrid and Cape Ring. I tried to have my B-Spec driver win the same cups with the Mirage as well but he couldn't even win the first race after 5 attempts and with upgrades, so after that I gave up and bought him a tuned Integra instead, which ended up being fast enough. I will always try to do the same cups in B-Spec after every A-Spec video that I will record. Overall my first impression of GT5 is quite positive, since the graphics and physics are good and the game has a lot of content. Some of it may be set up in an unusual way but it's still a lot closer to the classic games than to GT Sport, with every cup having a unique reward car, so I am motivated to play through the game further. I will also be going for the PSN trophies in this game. Sadly a few of them are not obtainable anymore because the online features of the game are shut down but the vast majority of them can still be earned. In my next GT5 video I will complete more cups in the Beginner section. Note: I already wanted to publish this video over a week ago but at first it was blocked because of a misidentified song in the intro. I disputed the claim and now the video is unblocked but it's possible that it will be blocked again later, so I have uploaded an alternative version of the video with different music. If this version here ends up getting blocked again, then I will publish and add the other one to my playlist instead.
